Industrial Garment Rails

Garments of all shapes and sizes must be stored or displayed carefully in warehouses and shops. The reason for this is that the different fabrics that garments are made out of can very easily be damaged if they are not. That damage can range from creasing and tearing to the spillage of liquids that cause staining. Sometimes the damage can be repaired – at a cost to the shop or the storage facility – but at other times it cannot. Then the garment in question will have to be replaced.

One of the most effective methods for storing or displaying clothes is an industrial garment rail and that is why it is a popular choice throughout the clothing industry.

What are industrial garment rails?

These rails are frames that are generally made from a hard-wearing metal like steel. They come in a wide variety of designs, but they are all created with the purpose of hanging clothes. Another feature that distinguishes garment rails from other storage and display options like racks is the presence of castors on their feet. Again these will typically be made of a material that is durable, for example hard rubber.

Why choose industrial garment rails over other storage or display options?

One very good reason for choosing to store or showcase clothes on rails is that it helps to keep them in good condition. If you use shelves for storing them, the garments will have to be folded. That will increase the risk of unsightly creasing. Rails are also a more effective option for displaying clothes within a shop, because they let customers see each garment in full and browse through them much more easily. Furthermore, clothing rails give customers a better idea of the length and the hang of a garment than other display solutions.

The presence of castors has the advantage of making it simple to move the rails from one area of a shop or a warehouse to another. That will save a great deal of employee time in comparison with racks or shelves. Finally, another very good reason for selecting rails is the different styles that can be manufactured and bought. This means that there is a model to suit almost all requirements.

Industrial Storage Rail Examples

ST03 HD 4-Tier Rail

Any warehouse or shop is likely to find itself needing to store or display garments of varying lengths. Therefore, a rail that can be adapted to different lengths will be a marvellous item to have and that is what this 4-tier rail is. It comes with a permanent bar at the top of the frame and three below it that can be removed. When in place, these removable bars enable lots of shorter garments to be hung on the four tiers. When taken away, the single remaining tier can be used for the hanging of longer garments instead.

ST12 7-Tier Rail

Clothing shops sometimes have to store smaller garments or accessories such as hangers in restricted spaces. A slim rail with multiple tiers like this model is ideal for that purpose. It is designed to fit comfortable into a tight space like the area behind the till, while still leaving the assistants plenty of room to operate. It is fitted with castors to make it easy to move when necessary too.

ST13 Narrow Single Tier Rail

Another everyday occurrence that retail outlets must deal with is items being returned because they are too small or otherwise unsuitable. These garments have to be stored behind till areas temporarily until they can be transferred to the shop floor and our ST13 Narrow Tier Rail is intended for that purpose. The frame is a narrow rectangle, as with the ST12, so it fits into tight spaces. However, it has a single tier, for hanging garments rather than clothes hangers.

ST06 Static Sale Rail

Not all garment rails are moved around regularly on a shop floor. Some are kept more or less in the same place, with only the clothes for display changing. The ST06 is an example of a rail that is designed to be left in place. It is a single tier square rail that can be constructed to a height of 6ft if necessary, but the noticeable aspect is the absence of castors. Instead, it has steel feet that will not leave a mark on the shop floor.
