A cutting edge bulk storage facility has become fully operational at Beacon Park Enterprise Zone just on the outskirts of Great Yarmouth.
The location was chosen for its proximity to the A47 and A12, as well as the zone’s commitment to environmental innovations and efficiencies. Owned by dap UK Ltd, the freight forwarding specialist, the new facility has increased
it’s share of the local employment market by around 30 percent, and hopes to increase this in future years as the location offers scope for further expansion.
Speaking about the new facility, CEO and owner Clive Julian said:
“Our operation is relatively unique to the Great Yarmouth area and we are pleased to be able to increase our contribution to the local economy and hope to provide increased employment opportunities over the coming years.”
The new warehouse has been designed to specifically handle bulk storage and features the latest in aisle racking systems and technological advances. A warehouse storage rack manufacturer will have advised on the best design for the new facility. The new design of narrower storage aisles allows for maximum operational efficiency, and with environmental initiatives such as electric vehicle charging points and solar power generation, the company is able to improve on its green credentials.
It’s also committed to implementing policies for using renewable energy where possible, including changing its company cars for hybrids and using solar power where possible. Only electric forklift trucks are on site, and all plastic and paper waste is stringently recycled.
