Training provider HGVC has announced its new warehouse training programme.
Poorly trained warehouse staff are generally less efficient and are more likely to have accidents. This can decrease productivity and profitability. HGVC, known for its HGV driver training programs, has created courses designed to train warehouse workers in three key areas.
Firstly, a new course offers forklift training in the most commonly used types of forklifts. HGVC also offers specialised training in rough terrain environments and warehouses with narrow aisles. These courses last from three to five days.
Introductory training, a one-day intensive course covering safe and efficient manual handling and health and safety will be the subject of another course. Though warehouse manual handling equipment such as furniture trolleys and picking trolleys are designed to be safe, they still require users to receive health and safety training and be familiar with these laws.
Lastly, first aid courses for high-risk workplaces involving machinery and manual handling tasks will be taught. These courses will last from one to three activity-packed days and are designed to equip warehouse staff with essential first aid skills.
The CEO of HGVC, James Clifford said:
“Our fully managed warehouse training service ensures businesses get courses they need to upskill employees to work safely and efficiently.”
HGVC recognises that warehouse owners find it difficult to provide training for all workers, particularly if they have multiple locations. HGVC training coordinates comprehensive programs whilst minimising warehouse downtime. They can customise courses to suit the individual requirements of a business. Courses are provided in the warehouse directly or at HGVC nationwide centres.
