Garments come in all shapes and sizes, from small T-shirts, suits, and skirts to bulky wedding dresses. Garment manufacturers and garment sellers need a variety of garment rails to hang their garments. There are standard garment rails available in a variety of heights and lengths, but sometimes a business in the garment trade needs bespoke rails made for them.
A bespoke garment rail starts with a standard design, but there are many elements of the garment rail that can be changed.
Changing the size
It could be that a business requires a standard garment rail but in a custom size. Manufacturers of high-quality rails construct them with tubular steel, which is cut, shaped and welded. They are not mass produced, so making a garment rail in a custom size is not difficult. A skilled metalworker will not take long to make a garment rail in a size specified by a garment business.
The colour
Garment rails used on the sales floor need to look attractive. Tubular steel is powder coated to protect it from corrosion. The coating can be assorted colours, so a bespoke rail can be made in a colour that fits in with the decor of the shop floor, or the branding of the company.
Movable or static
Bespoke garment rails can be movable or static. Moveable rails have four strong casters that make then easy to move by hand even when fully loaded with garments.
Most garment rails come fully assembled. They can be easily transported using vans, but sometimes a business wants to move a rail by car. This requires a rail that can easily be disassembled and reassembled, ideally without needing tools. These types of rails are ideal for taking to exhibitions.
Some businesses have a variable seasonal trade, requiring more rails at peak times. In slower sales periods, it helps if the rails can be stored efficiently. Collapsible models and rails that fit together when not in use will take up less space.
Heavy or lightweight
If your rail gets a lot of use and is regularly moved fully loaded, it needs to be durable with heavyweight tubular steel. Sometimes a more lightweight rail is needed on the retail floor. Lightweight but strong rails can be manufactured to order.
Many rails
The most common type of garment rail has one horizontal rail to hang clothes. A two-rail design with rails at different heights allows different sized clothes to be hung on the same rail. Seven rail systems are useful for hanging small garments, or storing hangers.
A bespoke garment rail can be constructed with as many rails as you need.
Covers
To protect garments when stored for extended periods, a garment rail cover is useful. If you have a custom size rail made for you, you may also need a bespoke size garment rail cover.
When producing bespoke garment rails, there are a lot of design decisions required. A garment rail manufacturer will be able to visit your workplace to assess your requirements and create a bespoke garment rail that meets your exact specifications.
