Flexible storage key to Black Friday and Christmas for clothing retailers

Many clothing retailers had a surge in business on November 23rd, known as Black Friday. For example, Crew Clothing, which sells smart casual clothing, had many offers available online and at its many shops.

The few weeks before Christmas is a time when more clothes are sold. On top of making sure that there is enough stock to cover the Christmas period, retailers also needed to plan for Black Friday. This makes it difficult for warehouses, as clothing has varying demands. Sometimes light summer clothing is in high demand, while at other times warm winter clothing is needed. It makes economic sense to vary stock levels according to demand during periods like Christmas and Black Friday, and this requires flexible storage.

Clothing retailers like Crew Clothing store most of their garments on rails. They use easy store rails that are designed to slot together when not in use, ready to be used at peak demand periods.

Most garment firms use rails that have quality rubber castors to move them easily around the workspace. Garments that have been reduced for the sales can be moved nearer the packing area ready to be dispatched to shops or online customers.

Many retailers reported that Black Friday was a success, hence they are already preparing for January sales and organising their warehouse logistics to cope with extra demand. Warehouse equipment manufacturers have the manual handling and storage equipment that makes warehouses organised and efficient.
