Logistics experts launch new Warehouse as a Service

LTS Global Solutions, specialists in supply chain logistics, has opened its new Warehouse as a Service (WaaS) facility.

The new facility is one of an increasing number of companies that offer WaaS for businesses that want flexible storage. The service charges no upfront fees, and clients only pay for the storage capacity they need, which can be scaled up or down each month. WaaS is useful for businesses whose warehouse space requirements change due to seasonal fluctuations and demand surges.

At times of peak demand more storage trolleys, racks and other equipment may be required to handle the increased number of orders. If the extra equipment is only required for a brief period, hiring extra storage space from a Warehouse as a Service facility can be a better option financially.

The current value of the WaaS market is $670 million and is forecast to rise to $4 billion by 2032. Dave Hands of the Birmingham-based LTS Global Solutions said that launching their Warehouse as a Service offering:

“has been made as a direct result of LTS Global Solutions listening to the contemporary needs of our customers, as well as responding to the changing demands of the marketplace as a whole.”

Global events and changing customer habits are reshaping logistics, with the need to be flexible and the ability to scale up storage requirements at any time without incurring high set-up costs. LTS has 10,000-pallet storage space and state-of-the-art technology to organise and handle inventory. Storage solutions are available on a short- or long-term basis.
