Fullers Logistics has opened a new fulfilment and distribution centre in answer to growing demand from business-to-consumer and business-to-business clients.

The company aims to expand its services across Southern England, from its base in the Thames Valley. A specialist in multi-channel distribution and fulfilment, the new facility will employ a team of drivers, operators and management staff.

Divisional Managing Director at Fullers Logistics Tony Dempsey, who has noted a sizable increase in enquiries to do with logistics from e-commerce firms within the last year and a half, said:

“With UK e-commerce sales expected to reach £70.75 billion in 2017 and no doubt increasing in the next three years, we wanted to ensure that our business was investing in an additional and dedicated e-commerce fulfilment site to accommodate this existing and future growth.”

The new warehouse will be an extension of the company’s operations in Slough, offering logistical services with improved efficiency and productivity, while at the same time saving on costs. The company will be able to accommodate several customers at a time, providing tailor-made solutions, including handling returns.

The new facility has been fitted with the latest warehouse packing equipment, which includes packing stations, bespoke picking trolleys and sortation tables, as well as providing extensive storage for the multiple clients with whom the company hopes to do business. The company intends to regularly review its facilities in order to identify areas that need improving to keep up with growing demand and ensure customer satisfaction.
